About the Role As a 3D Designer in our 3D & Mockups group, you’ll focus on creating hyper-realistic 3D visualizations of Canva print products—from business cards and brochures to packaging, apparel and beyond. Your craft will ensure that every Canva user can see their designs come to life in accurate, inspiring contexts, driving both creativity and confidence. You’ll be working closely alongside two other 3D Designers, Graphic Specialist, Art Director, and the Content Lead, collaborating as a team to deliver world-class print mockups at scale. This is a mid-level design role where your focus will be on hands-on creation, detail, and execution, while also experimenting with automation and scripting to make workflows smarter and faster. By combining a meticulous eye for detail with a passion for innovation and efficiency, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Canva’s print mockups and making professional-quality design accessible to millions of people around the world. As the team leading Canva’s 3D creation efforts from Europe, we’re building the future of 3D design at scale. Our group is focused on unlocking new ways for users to visualise their ideas through realistic, interactive, and beautifully rendered 3D content. From product visualisation to immersive design elements, we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible within Canva’s ecosystem — and we’re just getting started. While mockups remain part of our foundation, our future is deeply rooted in 3D. In the coming year, we’re expanding our capabilities to power a broad range of design experiences — and we’re looking for curious, collaborative thinkers to help us shape what 3D design means for millions of users around the world. What you’ll do Craft Ultra-Realistic Mockups: Create high-quality 3D assets of print products—including models, textures, lighting, and renders—that look indistinguishable from real life. Prepare Assets for WebGL: Optimize and deliver 3D assets for WebGL environments, ensuring they are lightweight, performant, and visually consistent. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the 3D Designers, Program Manager, Art Director, Content Lead and Engineers to deliver print mockups that align with Canva’s content strategy and product needs. Experiment with Automation: Explore and apply scripts, tools, and workflows to optimize repetitive tasks and improve the scalability of our 3D pipeline. Innovate and Explore: Work on projects involving the creation of new products and processes. This includes learning new tools and workflows, solving unique challenges, and embracing the unknown to build innovative solutions. Stay Curious and Innovative: Keep up to date with trends in 3D visualization, experimenting with new tools and techniques to push the quality and efficiency of our print mockups further. Deliver at Scale: Manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring mockups are delivered on time and with consistency across the Print product range. What we're looking for You’re Advanced in Blender: You have strong, hands-on expertise in Blender at an advanced level, covering modeling, shading, lighting, and asset preparation for production. You’re a 3D Specialist: You have proven experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering, with a portfolio showcasing realistic product visualization - ideally including print products. You’re Collaborative: You thrive in cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders. You’re Curious about Automation: You’re excited to explore scripts, tools, and workflows that make production more efficient and scalable. You’re Adaptable: You thrive in environments where no two projects are the same. You’re excited to work on new products, learn unfamiliar tools, and experiment with processes that have never been done before.
