26-27 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) - Scenic Design
California State University, Fresno is seeking a Temporary Faculty Pool Lecturer in Scenic Design. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses in scenic design and supervising student designers, with opportunities to engage in various departmental activities including designing scenery for shows. Responsibilities Teach courses in scenic design, theatre crafts, graphics, computer aided design Supervise student designers Possible opportunities to teach in a distance education mode Possible opportunities to design scenery for departmental shows Be encouraged to develop web-enhanced and/or web-based instruction Specific assignments will depend on departmental needs Instructor Responsibility: Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2 Instructors are responsible for the preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading (as appropriate) lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i.e. asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid) Skills A Master's degree, or MFA in Theatre with an emphasis in scenic design or closely related field Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds Experience in scenic design and construction A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, which may be exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level Company Overview California State University is one of the State University's 23 campuses, making it one of the world's largest higher education systems.
