2025 Ventures Summer Internship: Campus Graduate Opportunity

About American Express Ventures: As the corporate venture capital arm of American Express, we're passionate about early-stage investments in FinTech, commerce, and enterprise software. With a global directive, we play a key role in investing in groundbreaking startups and helping them commercialize partnerships with American Express business units. Our team has backed over 100 category-defining founders, including notable investments like Biocatch, Blackbird Labs, Firework, Melio, Menlo Security, Plaid, Stripe, Toast, and Wonder.
Responsibilities:
Participate in deal pipeline activities, including sourcing, evaluating, transacting, and handling investments
Support research and creation of investment thesis
Proactively identify potential investments, meet with, and qualify startups
Assist in management and reporting on the active pipeline
Evaluate potential target companies and cases from strategic, operational, and financial valuation
Adhoc projects and results as needed
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of previous experience in fields requiring in-depth financial analysis, deal execution, strategy, and/or business development
Currently enrolled in a full-time Graduate level degree program
Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2-4 years of previous experience in fields requiring in-depth financial analysis, deal execution, strategy, and/or business development
Track record of being self-reliant and operating in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
Strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications, and recommendations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong financial, analytical, and valuation skills
Curiosity about the startup ecosystem and passion for American Express and desire to drive innovation through startup investing
