We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic law student to join our Legal Department as a Summer Remote Intern. As a leading publisher of English language books, Penguin Random House offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and diverse industry. Our internship program is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the legal aspects of publishing, with a focus on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the legal profession.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics, including defamation, copyright, right of publicity, privacy, trademark, and commercial law
Review books for legal concerns and provide feedback to our editorial team
Draft contracts and assist in negotiating agreements with authors, agents, and other stakeholders
Collaborate with our legal team to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions
Program Details:
10-week remote internship program starting from June 9, 2025 – August 18, 2025
28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday
Competitive hourly rate of $21 per hour
