The agency was established in 1958 to give the US space development a specialized place to research the Solar System. NASA succeeded the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) which began in 1946.

Your role

This position is with the Modeling, Simulation, and Integration team on the Spaceport Command & Control System project at NASA/KSC. In addition to our responsibilities of developing simulation software for the command & control system, we provide tools to improve the software development process and lifecycle. This student opportunity will be to design and develop model components and/or related simulation software to enhance the simulation software developer's work. We have a number of tasks in mind that could be worked on during the term based on the applicant's skills and abilities. The expected outcome of this opportunity will be fully tested software that can be used by the simulation software development team, along with operation documentation and users guide as appropriate in addition to an overall intern experience report.

Compensation & benefits

The estimated total pay for an intern at NASA is $32.00 per hour. As an employee, you will also receive the following benefits:

About you
• Knowledge of the general software development lifecycle and process is recommended. Experience writing software using one or more of the following languages is recommended: C, C++, Perl, PLC Ladder Logic, etc. Knowledge of the following tools is recommended: MatLab, Simulink, MiMic, AutoCAD, or other modeling and drawing tools.

• Undergraduate Sophomore to Senior
