Summary
We are seeking a 1099 Community Mobilizer to join our team at Positively U, Inc. This role is crucial in engaging the community through outreach initiatives aimed at educating and supporting individuals affected by HIV. You will play a vital part in our mission to eliminate misconceptions about HIV and enhance the quality of life for those living with the virus.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement community outreach strategies to engage individuals affected by HIV.
• Facilitate educational workshops and discussions to raise awareness about HIV prevention and treatment.
• Collaborate with local organizations to identify service gaps and barriers to care.
• Conduct needs assessments to inform program development and evaluation.
• Provide support to individuals living with HIV by connecting them to necessary resources.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of persons living with HIV within the community.
Requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for community engagement.
• Experience in public health, social work, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Familiarity with issues surrounding HIV/AIDS is highly desirable.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
