1. PathConnexx Externship - Lab Animal or Toxicologic Pathology (North America)

This Anatomic Pathology PathConnexx opportunity is a chance to gain hands-on experience with the IDEXX BioAnalytics team. It’s offered to a resident interested in laboratory animal diagnostic pathology and/or discovery/toxicologic pathology.What is PathConnexx? A unique learning experience for a veterinary pathology resident currently enrolled in an Anatomic Pathology residency program and beginning their final year in the fall of 2025.Residents will gain real-world experience working virtually alongside our pathologists, who provide pathology diagnostics and consultation services to lab animal veterinarians or those in pharmaceutical/discovery activities. During your externship, you will be integrated into our global professional pathology team with exposure to a wide range of interesting pathology cases, specifically selected for you based on your interests and goals for your programWhat to expect:Externship will take place either the week of January 26th or February 2nd, 2026, at a mutually agreeable timeYou’ll participate in the digital evaluation of specimens from laboratory animals, related consultations, and other activitiesYou’ll interact virtually with several IDEXX Pathologists within our IDEXX BioAnalytics TeamYou’ll attend and participate in pathology-related meetings as available (i.e. rounds)What you’ll need:DVM or equivalent18+ years of age and two completed years of a pathology residency with a track record of academic success and potentialFamiliarity with current topics and issues in diagnostic veterinary medicineSuccessful completion of Phase I of the ACVP board exam highly desirablePlease include the following with your application: Resume or CVLetter of intent or cover letter1 letter of recommendation from a current or previous advisor, mentor, or employer*Please note: you’ll need to upload these documents in the ‘Additional attachments’ section of the application process.
