The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices for SaaS applications. You will work closely with frontend engineers, DevOps teams, and product managers to design and deliver high-performance, secure, and cloud-native backend systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScriptDesign and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecturesWork with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AlloyDB (GCP)Build and integrate event-driven systems using message brokers:RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQSGCP Pub/SubImplement search and indexing solutions using Elasticsearch / OpenSearchIntegrate third-party services (authentication, storage, payments, AI APIs, etc.)Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practicesOptimize applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiencyImplement authentication & authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, RBAC)Design and implement caching strategies using RedisCollaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless API integrationParticipate in code reviews, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelinesTroubleshoot production issues and improve system reliabilityImplement logging, monitoring, and observability best practicesRequired SkillsStrong experience with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScriptExperience building REST APIs and backend servicesHands-on experience with Express.js or NestJSSolid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectureExperience with databases (MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MySQL)Familiarity with message queues and distributed systemsExperience with Git and version control workflowsKnowledge of Docker and containerized environmentsBasic to intermediate knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)Strong understanding of API security best practices:JWT, OAuth, rate limiting, input validation, secure codingGood to HaveExperience with microservices architectureHands-on experience with:GCP Pub/SubAlloyDB (or managed PostgreSQL services)Elasticsearch / OpenSearchExperience with Redis caching and performance tuningFamiliarity with Kubernetes (GKE / EKS / AKS)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)Exposure to AI/ML integrations (OpenAI, Vertex AI, etc.)Knowledge of monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, etc.)Basic understanding of React or Angular is a plusSoft SkillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work in a collaborative product engineering environmentGood communication skillsAbility to work independently and take ownershipProactive mindset towards performance, scalability, and reliability
